MCDC values parental involvement and family engagement to support the growth and development of children. The HighScope curriculum and REIA are both consistent with these values and promote understanding, embracing diverse backgrounds and the role of parents as the key to continuous lifelong learning. We regularly engage parents and families in developmentally appropriate home/school connection activities that provide opportunities for parents to bond with their children. Quality time and meaningful conversation between parents, children, and staff are an essentially important part of the MCDC culture. Also, parents and/or guardians are encouraged to become actively involved with the governance of the agency through participation on our policy council, parent center committees, and other agency-wide committees. At MCDC we invite parents to visit or volunteer at any time.
