The mission of Montclair Child Development Center, Inc. (MCDC) is to provide successful encounters that will embrace the child, empower the family, and strengthen the community. Founded in 1968, MCDC is a private, non-profit early childcare agency. With Head Start and Early Head Start programs at the core of our services to the community, we are committed to the healthy social-emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
MCDC receives federal, state, and private funding to support our delivery of comprehensive, inclusive services to children birth to five years of age. Our entire team is committed to providing a safe, nurturing learning environment as a foundation for the delivery of high quality education, health, nutrition, disabilities and family & community partnership services to our communities.
With over 50 years of dedication to achieving school readiness, healthy family relationships and positive health outcomes for the neediest children and families, MCDC has become woven into the fabric of the communities of Montclair, West Orange, Orange, Belleville and Bloomfield, New Jersey.
