Family and Community Engagement

MCDC values parental involvement and family engagement to support the growth and development of children. The HighScope curriculum and REIA are both consistent with these values and promote understanding, embracing diverse backgrounds and the role of parents as key to continuous lifelong learning. The Center regularly engages parents and families in developmentally appropriate home/school connection activities that provide opportunities for parents to bond with their children. Quality time and meaningful conversation between parents, children and staff are an essential important part of the MCDC culture. The Center has an open door policy and invites parents to visit or volunteer at any time.

Through our Family and Community Engagement service area we provide meaningful comprehensive social services in order to support the growth and enrichment of families. We actively partner with social service and other agencies to address the needs of our families (i.e. education, employment, emergency services, parental training and coping skills, etc.).

Also, parents and/or guardians are encouraged to become actively involved with the governance of the agency through participation on our Policy Council and other many agency wide committees.
